Shetland is coming back, and it’s sooner than many people expected. Season 10 will premiere in the UK on the 5th of November - and while a US date hasn’t yet been confirmed, it’s not usually one of those shows where the US has to wait ages to get the new episodes.

In the US, you can currently watch seasons 1-9 on BritBox HERE.

What we’re…

  • Watching: Thriller - Yes, it’s old. Yes, it’s a bit cheesy. It’s still great fun to watch this creepy anthology series. Each hour-long episode is a self-contained tale of suspense, folk horror, or general terror, and you can spot quite a few notable older British actors sprinkled throughout. If you enjoy shows like Chiller, The Twilight Zone, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Tales of the Unexpected, Hammer House of Horror, and Inside No 9, it’s definitely one to add to your watchlist.

  • Reading: The Maid’s Secret by Nita Prose - This is the third book in Prose’s “Molly the Maid” series, and while it’s not set in the UK, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine it taking place in London. The series follows a hotel maid who seems a bit autistic (though it’s never directly stated) as she does her best to build a life for herself, occasionally getting derailed by homicide investigations.

THIS WEEK IN BRITISH TV

True evil is, above all things, seductive. When the Devil knocks at your door... he doesn't have cloven hooves. He is beautiful, and offers you your heart's desire in whispered airs. Like a siren, beckoning you to ruinous shores
