What we’re…
Watching: The Time of Their Lives - Sadly, Pauline Collins died this week. This film was her last, and it follows a Hollywood star who gets a new friend to come along with her as she travels from London to France for an ex-lover’s funeral. After this one, I’ll probably go back in time a bit and re-watch Shirley Valentine and Upstairs, Downstairs. She was a talented woman.
Reading: Dark Island by Daniel Aubrey - This debut novel is set during winter in Orkney, and it kicks off when a storm unearths human remains. Autistic reporter Freya Sinclair has just moved back home for peace and quiet, but it doesn’t seem like that’s in the cards. Author Daniel Aubrey is autistic and the portrayal is very authentic, so if you enjoy crime fiction with autistic sleuths, this is one to check out.
