First off, a bit of news…

If you’re a Line of Duty fan, you may have heard about the season 7 return - but the BBC has released some new details. The biggest news is that Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty, Hamish Macbeth) will be joining the cast in the new season. They begin filming in spring 2026, and you can read more HERE.

Dalziel & Pascoe, but make’em female - BritBox and ITV have announced a reboot of the British TV classic Dalziel & Pascoe - but this time around, we’ll see Kerry Godliman (Whitstable Pearl) as DI Andrea Dalziel and Nina Singh (Art Detectives) as DS Paige Pascoe. No word yet on whether Godliman will be picking her nose and farting, but I think we can be fairly certain she won’t be confessing to scratching her balls. ITV made an Instagram post showing them on set about a week ago, so it wouldn’t surprise us to see this one making its way to screens in late 2026 or early-to-mid 2027.

What we’re…

  • Watching: Young Sherlock - Starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin, this Sherlock Holmes prequel/origin story is not on the level of, say, Endeavour - but it’s still a fun series, especially if you enjoy a bit of action.

  • Reading: The Frozen People by Elly Griffiths - Her Ruth Galloway books may be over now, but Griffiths has another smart, competent midlife female protagonist in Ali Dawson - an investigator who time travels to solve some exceptionally cold cases.

Let me confess. I use foul and abusive language. I pick my nose and scratch my balls. I fart louder than is biologically necessary. And I do it all in public. I've got sod-all to hide, more's the pity.
