A few news items to get things started…
We’ve seen some early reports that season 6 of Shakespeare & Hathaway will premiere in the UK on U&Alibi in September - so hopefully, that means a US date won’t be too far behind. Sadly, Sebastian is leaving (but hopefully, Frank and Lu continue to keep things entertaining).
In our last status update, we mentioned there was no firm news on further episodes or specials for The Cleaner - and about a day later, the BBC released news of an upcoming Christmas special (an hour long, and set in Italy).
Marlow Murder Club gets a season 3 premiere on September 6th on PBS/PBS Masterpiece.
Marble Hall Murders (the follow-up to Magpie Murders and Moonflower Murders) will also premiere on PBS on September 6th.

THIS WEEK IN BRITISH TV
On BritBox, new episodes of Escape to the Country continue at a rate of four new episodes every Friday through September 25th. The 23rd brought Gone, a thriller in which Eve Myles plays a detective trying to figure out what happened to a missing music teacher from Bristol. On the 29th, the classic 1984 production of A Woman of Substance will be added to the platform. BritBox Premier members can also watch season 2 of The Hardacres now (regular members will get it in August - don’t shoot the messenger, we’re just a news site).
On Acorn TV, the 27th brings us new episodes of season 5 of Harry Wild, Summertide, and the finale of season 2 of Inspector Ellis. They’ll also be adding The Ridge, a psychological thriller set between Scotland and New Zealand. That’s all for July, but August 3rd will bring the return of The Chelsea Detective.
On PBS Masterpiece and PBS.org, new episodes of the final season of Grantchester (11) continue weekly on Sundays through August 2nd.
On Netflix, July 30th brings The Bombing of Pan Am 103, a historical thriller about the terrorist attack that led to an explosion over the Scottish town of Lockerbie in 1988.
On Apple TV+, new episodes of season 5 of Trying continue to drop weekly until August 26th.
On BBC Select (+ BritBox Premier), the 23rd brought Natural World: Season 10 and Renaissance: The Blood & the Beauty. On the 30th, they’ll add season 2 of Murder 24/7 and Secrets of the Human Body.
On Hulu, they added Pompeii: Out of Time with Tom Hiddleston on the 23rd.
